Curiosity beat out hunger.
"Hurry up, open it," he said.
"Take it easy, Fred, I just got home and I'm tired."
Fred was a patient man. Fred loved his wife. But today, her slowness was the wily mosquito that outflies the swat. When she was settled in a chair with her feet up, he floated the letter in her face until she grabbed it and opened the envelope. He held his breath. She silently read the letter.
"Well?" Fred was holding his breath and his heart.
"It's the legal notice about the firm's change of name."
