Bella thinks of the surgery that could make her thin and pretty again. The $200 is right there in front of her, she can smell it pass her by.

"Hey Adam, you don't need a Netbook, do you?" she asks.

"Nah . . ." he says. He feels bad; he likes Bella and has an idea of what she is saving up for.

"Hey, I thought you were going to sell it to me," interrupts Daphne.

"Oh, yeah, I'm sorry," says Bella. "It's just that I could use the money now and you sort of don't have it, right?"

Daphne sticks out her lower lip, makes a sad childish face. "No. Go ahead, sell it if you can," she says.
