In his rearview mirror, a surreal movie plays itself out. Jack watches a car fly up to his like a moth to flame, growing grossly huge, like Alice on cake.

Jack can't speed up faster than the car in front of him, he is boxed in to the left by a tractor trailer truck.

He glances quickly out his passenger window and maneuvers quickly into the right hand lane.
