Harwood Klemp's family once again sat quietly and waited. First it had been at his bedside waiting for him to die. Then at the wake receiving guests in an endless line of nodding and kneeling and holding onto hands and making sad raisin faces. Now here they all were again at the office of Gregory Hall, Attorney at Law.
"Mr. Klemp's latest will was signed two years ago this past winter," Gregory said. Everyone nodded, understanding that the date meant it was before his mind took a flyer but recent enough to have forgiven all slights since. Some family members smiled in relief while others scowled like nuns.
"All right, here we go," Gregory said. He read Harwood Klemp's last will and testament aloud.
