Eugene rolled over and smashed the cigarette out close to the ashtray on the bedstand. He brushed the ash trail off his bare chest and belched. A cloud of beer scent hung over the bed.

The blonde opened her eyes and stared at him. "G'mornin' to you too," she said.

"Hey, babe, don't you have someplace to be." It wasn't a question but a hint. He didn't know her name and didn't want her hangin' around for morning coffee.
