Debbie Diamonte gathered all her dried out corsages and napkins from Denny's and tickets from Mike's Miniature Golf and Cinema III and put them into a big bag. She took it to school and stuffed it into her locker. It's all she had left from a two-year relationship with Doug Lamster.
Mrs. Diamonte, feeling guilty but nevertheless justified, dug out the love letters and cards Mr. Diamonte had given her since they first started dating. She read each letter, every card from the fourth grade "Be My Valentine" to this past "Merry Christmas to My Wife" and had to stop and tissue-up by her first Mother's Day greeting. She stacked them all neatly, tied with ribbons into four boxes and shoved them under the bed.
