She reached inside her purse, took out a tube of lipstick and applied it out of instinct. She put it away and pulled out a small mirror and looked anyway.

Her stomach felt full, her plate was clean. She reached for the water goblet and took a sip. She forced herself to take a few more.

She sat up straighter and smiled.
