{"id":264,"date":"2008-01-31T07:29:14","date_gmt":"2008-01-31T14:29:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/susangibb.net\/blog2\/?p=264"},"modified":"2009-02-02T20:57:01","modified_gmt":"2009-02-03T01:57:01","slug":"storyspace-the-hanging-new-mapview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/susangibb.net\/blog2\/2008\/01\/storyspace-the-hanging-new-mapview\/","title":{"rendered":"STORYSPACE: <em>The Hanging<\/em> &#8211; New Mapview"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"drop\">D<\/span>eveloped a few new trails before class last night and checked them out this morning to see if they were going anywhere.\u00a0 Since they inspired a few new &#8216;boxes&#8217; I assume that they were indeed part of the story I hadn&#8217;t recognized before.<\/p>\n<p>Mostly what&#8217;s happening with this story is the developing background of what led to the opening scene of Bonnie&#8217;s wake.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve done this once before with story, where my main character was introduced in the second paragraph as he was floating face down and headed out to sea.<\/p>\n<p>I suppose that&#8217;s another way of a story happening by asking the vital question of <em>Why?<\/em> Then<em>, Oh my God, what happened?<\/em> An online writing group once critiqued this and a vast majority said that it didn&#8217;t work&#8211;you&#8217;re not supposed to have the climax at the beginning.
