{"id":31,"date":"2008-10-22T07:02:06","date_gmt":"2008-10-22T14:02:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/susangibb.net\/blog2\/?p=31"},"modified":"2008-10-22T07:02:06","modified_gmt":"2008-10-22T14:02:06","slug":"new-media-software-surgery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/susangibb.net\/blog2\/2008\/10\/new-media-software-surgery\/","title":{"rendered":"NEW MEDIA: Software Surgery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"drop\">I<\/span>t was just a month or so ago that I mentioned somewhere an idea of a computer game that mimicked surgery, showing the inside of the human body that can both be a learning experience and a fun (buzzer sounds&#8211;you&#39;ve nicked an artery!) playing game. Now don&#39;t scowl at me; there was a game called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hasbrotoyshop.com\/ProductsByBrand.htm?BR=645&amp;ID=9468\">Operation <\/a>by Hasbro that&#39;s still in existence after many decades.<\/p>\n<p>But the reality has come to pass, and <a href=\"http:\/\/\">it&#39;s for real surgeons<\/a>. As a learning tool, I would think it&#39;s a marvelous idea, and as a focus on individual surgery, it&#39;s got to be an aid that can greatly enhance the chances of sucessful surgery.
