David smiled in what he'd practiced as a 'slightly embarassed by good fortune' way. "Yes, in high school. In college it was field hockey, rowing, and golf. The rest of my time was taken up with the Debate Team, a few charity organizations, language clubs, student politics, and of course, studies."

Outside Alfred's office his receptionist was handing Jack Maloney a clipboard with a pen and a half-dozen forms to complete. It was 11:35.
