Once you get started, you can come up with all kinds of ways to resolve to be a better human being. I’m not even marking down the obvious ones, like do a good deed every day, help those in need, try to understand the liberal extremist, be kind and thoughtful to others, always be tolerant and openminded–everyone has a reason for their opinion, try to understand the conservative extremist, forget what happened thirty years ago, etc., etc.; these my mom and dad taught me years ago and while I may slip up now and then, I still contain within my soul the fear of the netherworld the nuns so sadistically described.
11. Live, not survive.
12. Examine every cloud to find the silver lining.
13. Use willpower as a tool whenever impulsive action can wreak havoc. Otherwise, acting on impulse is fine.
14. Act on impulse more often without triple-thinking everything through.
15. Live this life with the thought in mind that you don’t want to be sent back in the next one as a mosquito.
