LITERATURE & WRITING: Submissions

It’s been a long time since I’ve submitted anything for publication, but I just finished up and submitted “Sad Endings” to Written Impressions as a Parody of Margaret Atwood’s “Happy Endings” which I started here on Spinning back in October. It is more a case of getting into the habit of meeting deadlines, working up the courage to submit and rebuild the thick skin needed for rejection than anything else; except of course, to fulfill that nagging impulse to finish up a writing that was at least good enough to bother you ever since you turned your back on it.

Feels good.

(I’ll post a link to this on Talespinning if you care to read it.)

I need some help getting started as a young author, but there aren’t any websites that I have found that could possibly help me. I’m sorry if I wasted time, but I really need help.

Erin, there’s plenty of help out there, you just need to know how to get to it. For starters, check out some of the links to the left under “Writing”, then “Literature Online” and “Literature in Print”. What genre and form are you working in? See what’s out there, and see where you fit in. We’d all be glad to help, there are writer’s forums, etc. that I can direct you to, depending on what stage you are at in your writing. Good luck, and feel free to visit and ask questions.
