WRITING: Writing Groups

I’m getting excited about the upcoming first meeting of our new writing group, Narratives in mid-February. It’s an eclectic group that hasn’t met face-to-face as yet, but we have all, I believe, some ties to the community college and the professors who are involved as well. The menu is just as eclectic, ranging from poetry and fiction to essay, film and the New Media of hypertext and interactive fiction (you early readers will recall my failure to thrive in my initial attempts at Photopia, Curses, and many others).

There’s also a Writers Conference being planned at the college by Neha at Wanderlust, and that’s going to run for a couple days concurrent with an art show and poetry reading on campus. Wish you all could be there!

All this is just perfect timing for my own unscratchable itch to write, although I must admit to hauling a lot of people into involvement with this like logs into a fire, and hope they get as much out of it as I will. But then, I’m short, and they can stomp me real easy if they want to!
