BLOGGING: A Writer’s Journey

June has been a month of personal losses, and the closing down of Book of Life is another I take to heart.

Denny and his wife Kathleen have become faraway friends that I will cherish and respect forever, wonderful people I would never have known even to this small degree had it not been through our weblogs. But Denny has more important work to do, and the Book of Life was a mere practice and priming for a book he has been working upon. Kathleen as well is writing a novel. This couple is obviously deeply in love with each other and spend as much quality time together as they can.

While I will miss Book of Life terribly, I both understand and admire the sacrifice Denny is making in giving it up. At an age where time is recognized and respected for the opportunities it allows, he is using it to its best advantage to achieve his own personal satisfaction and fulfill his desires. This is not selfish; this is wise.

And in the end, he and Kathleen will share the time spent away from us in producing books that I’m sure will go even further in quality beyond what he has written and shared with us in the past.

Good luck, God bless you both, and thank you for all you have done for all of us, Denny and Kathleen.

I ditto your comment/post. I know Denny and his wife from you. I have read and learned a great deal from Denny in the very short time, mere weeks of absorbing his wisdom. It is a great loss for us that read there, but I celebrate their joy. I can’t wait to read their books. I will keep a look out for them. Thanks as always for “your” wonderful thoughts via words. YOU are a very special Lady. I hope Father’s Day is a special one…as a daughter and Friend.

Susan, thanks for this beautiful final tribute. I’ve been feeling the loss today, but it’s a good and right thing to do. I’ll be poking my nose in from time to time. Keep up the good work.

  3. Kathleen says:

Susan, you were thoughtful to give this farewell.

I enjoy your wit and wisdom and will still be among your readers.
