In a comment to a post below “What makes up space?” Professor John Timmons kindly offers a poem that relates to a sense of being and the space of universe the poet uses within it. It’s a wonderful piece that you really must read by Mark Strand called, “Keeping Things Whole.” I tend to write poems to voice the darker things in life, and the most recent was in fact a combination of two ideas that competed for my attention today.
Maybe I shouldn’t be encouraged in these mind travels, at least without knowing I have a knapsack on my back, but I appreciate the confirmation that sometimes they lead in well-worthwhile directions.
Of course the trail forks off from here, and goes to consideration of literary form as much as it has me stepping backwards many times today to scrutinize the place where I had been.
But as to literary form, I wondered at the time I posted whether it even fell under New Media. Moving around today, both physically and mentally has produced an image that would well fall into the category.
