Picked this Color Chart (http://smgct.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/color_text_chart.jpg) up off the internet to illustrate in some small way the manner in which the mind is trained, or genetically wired perhaps into an order of sorting what we see. Oddly, while I fell into the “text” category and didn’t even immediately catch the purpose nor have an easy time of it in switching my way of thinking, my friend, Gus, a signpainter and artist instantly read by visual color rather than word.
This is just an example of the layering of two communicative symbols, and relates to some of the information we’ve learned about in New Media.
Hummmm! Interesting. I think I knew that, but doing it in the morning with only a few sips of coffee turned me into an idiot. Thanks.
