Formal essays naturally do call for footnotes and bibliography.
Aside from having three or four books open at a time while writing an essay, and after the tedious research and evidenced arguments have been planned and written, the worst part of writing a paper is the footnoting. Even with all the wonders of modern technology and software assistance, it’s a royal pita.
Just about done with the footnotes, and I can proofread it tomorrow before class.
