Would like to chronicle the process of a project I am working on right now, and am deciding if it will just be placed in the New Media category here at Spinning, or if a separate weblog, as I did for the creative writing course is the way to go. I’m at the point of story where I think a grid must be drawn out, the paths laid out, even if I’m not wanting to plan ahead but instead let the story(ies) move as they come–which is the normal way I write.
I’m glad for the experience from the New Media Course which introduced to me the use of Powerpoint and its value to the process by way of flowchart. Although this will not be a visual and audio piece, perhaps even the slide show setup might be useful for following the text. But the fact that I’m already semi-comfortable with it will make things easier.
Want to also pick back up on "Still Life". I think I can learn something about paths and details from the gameplaying process just as from Interactive Fiction which leads the reader/player by questioning the story and by remembering detail.
So maybe I won’t make you read this step-by-step process of writing a "pseudohyperfiction" story, but the weblog, a new media event in itself, will be instrumental in the planning and recording, whether here or elsewhere.
