LITERATURE: Discussions

Well here ya go, my complaints of the lack of comments and discussions here at Spinning answered; a book club right at our local library that meets Tuesday mornings and/or evenings to discuss a selected book.  Up for review:  Oswald Wynd’s The Ginger Tree, James McBride’s The Color of Water, Jonathan Lethem’s Motherless Brooklyn, and John Steinbeck’s Cannery Row

Off the top of my head, as well as giving myself time to read one, I’m leaning towards Steinbeck. I’ve read Grapes of Wrath, and may even have read Cannery Row but it would have been a long time ago.  It’s the focus of an evening group, and is scheduled for the week after Christmas so while I may wander into an earlier meeting in the next two weeks, I think I won’t partake in the discussion and the necessary reading until I pick up Cannery Row.

Sometimes the old fashioned real people way is best.
