I have no idea why it’s on so late, but am watching Jim Carrey and an adorable little Molly Shannon as Cindy Lou Who in this movie that I hadn’t seen. It’s based on Dr. Seuss’ poem, of course, and I’m enjoying it thoroughly. With Sir Anthony Hopkins reading the original Seuss version, the elements of voice, tone, inflection, rhythm, and meter all come into play and while a movie is a movie, the graphics enhance and expand upon the story. Jim Carrey, as usual, adds his own individual layer of weird to produce yet another dimension to the structure.
Also found this neat website on the movie.
And yes Mark, I’m still just groovin’ on the movie itself.
