One of you must die? Sounds too expensive.
Although I’ve read “Grapes” and “Eden,” never “Cannery” except maybe a few leafing throughs while in college when my mind was more on bowling. Always enjoy your observations. 🙂
Financially, no. With the average cost of funerals around $6000, that’s only a third of the cost of one year’s health insurance that’s not guaranteed to keep one alive. However, since we can’t seem to agree on who, guess we’ll just have to bite the bullet and go on.
Read Cannery Row. I love it. Grapes will be a reread for me some day, unless of course, we decide to agree on the above.
If you are picking and choosing, “East of Eden” is Steinbeck’s masterpiece.
