Three weeks long the waiting, heralded by sightings by the man, the woman at the deli, the neighbor. To them, the eagle has no meaning but the natural awe of one so rarely seen. To me, it meant much more. I who symbolize, imbue with magic meaning that is silly but held true. At long last today I see him swooping from his perch to pluck his morning meal from icy waters.
