EDUCATION & NEW MEDIA: Plans

It’s probably too late for me–no protests here; sometimes it just is–to learn the new programs and make some use of them, but on the other hand, limited time means learning faster by going the classroom route vs. the trial and error self-teaching methods that seemed fine until now.

I want to learn to write Interactive Fiction–the text based play such as Montfort’s Book and Volume that I’ve been "reading and writing" now.  I want to learn Adobe Illustrator, Flash8 and all the rest.  For my own satisfaction of curiousity and sense of adventure, yes; but with some forward thinking towards publication as well.

Where this all is likely leading is to courses for the fall semester; somewhere, I’m not sure which colleges offer what I need and what I need to be admitted.  But I must stop putting off the inevitable as time flies by and I’m still struggling with the basics.  So if at all possible, you’ll find me back in a classroom somewhere by the end of summer.

You are right, it takes forever to learn new stuff. Especially when an eclectic interest scatters focus all over the place.

Actually, the topics are all related through creative writing goals. Then too, when age inhibits 20/20 vision, it’s time to pick up the shotgun.
