Trying to get back into the habit of reading for knowledge as well as literature, and have started Longinus’ On the Sublime online, only because if I order it from amazon.com, it’ll cost me a bundle because I’ll no doubt order about five or six others on my wish list as well.
There was so much to get out of Boethius’ Consolation of Philosophy, that I still go back to it now. Any of the advice, etc. books on trying to understand self and others written over the centuries go back to these basics. Man has always wondered about man; his purpose, his past, his future. Maybe I just prefer reading something from a man wearing a toga.
