Via Chris Coonce-Ewing, I found that MIT offers free–yeah folks, free!–course studies in a wide field of disciplines. While they’re non-credit and not current, they do make the materials available for study and give you an excellent learning base. There’s no feedback, so there’s no deadline, but for the quality, I don’t think there’s any reason why the quality and learning shouldn’t be the reason to set the pace for myself.
I’m looking at the contemporary lit and the creative writing and the new media courses right now, but I may try something different. I need the discipline of an outline, a deadline–even self-imposed.
