Connecticut had a chance to help thousands of patients who would have benefited from the prescribed use of marijuana via a bill allowing them to grow a small number of plants for personal use.
Governor Rell said no. Claims it’d be sending the wrong message to our children.
Like what? Like maybe if something’s considered bad for you then discovered to have positive possibilities, we can’t change our mind and adapt? How many other prescribed medications, government controlled, available only from pharmaceutical corporations or through your local drug dealer, would be pulled from legitimate public access if this dual nature were to be considered?
Oh, that’s right: available only from phamaceutical corporations. The governor must think that patients growing a few plants for medicinal purposes cuts into corporate territory. I’m taking bets on which giant conglomerate is first to produce a marijuana pill.
