This is the toaster I’ve used for many years. It hasn’t been manufactured since the 60s. I found it at a tag sale and you know, I wonder how many toasters the folks who gave it up have gone through since.
This is one of the things that used to bug my dad so much; things produced these days aren’t meant to be fixed, but rather to be replaced. This toaster is at least forty-five years old and still works perfectly. I’ve replaced the cord once when it became frayed and that’s about it.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have a world where things weren’t tossed without good reason? Wouldn’t that be a nice, green, thing to do?

Be nice to have a world where people weren’t tossed aside as well. I do like your toaster, though. I miss things that were meant to last, good work ethic, calling customer service and have an actual person answer the phone, getting good customer service from companies that valued each and every customer…. Mmmm. I think i’m working m’self into a snit.
It really was different back then, wasn’t it? A nicer world, a safer world, a more respectful, grateful, helpful world.
