Big deal. The first real harvesting of beans and hot peppers. There’s some parsley and dill but not much else.
And some poppy seeds. No, not those kind of poppies. This is just the California poppy which is much, much smaller and the seeds can’t be used for breads or cookies much less anything else. But I do save them to sow the next year.
Your blog is very pretty and this post especially.
I’m bummed we couldn’t hang this summer. Actually, come to think of it, I will be back in CT at odd increments and will give you a heads up.
Hey there kid, good to hear from you. Thanks for the kind words and some night when you’re bored you can check out Hypercompendia and see what I’ve been up to for the last 88 days with hypertext stories (I know you hate them; go to number #51 from the 100 Flash Fiction Hypertext link to your right (—>) and read that one only at least) along with Steve and a buncha others writing, painting, and photoing.
Yes, get in touch when you’re home for a bit and we can meet and greet. Meanwhile, I’ve been following your adventures at the station and in bunnyland.
My adventures are fascinating, right? I’m going to clip my bunny’s toenails soon, so keep an eye out for that installment.
In the meantime, I will check out this story of yours.
My California poppy seeds were lost to a gopher that kept eating the plants as soon as they bloomed. 🙁 But I think my cat killed that gopher a few days ago, so maybe next year….
I love your new blog template! Beautiful.
Hi there, Barbara. I’m rootin’ for the cat in the cat vs. gopher (and gopher vs. you and your flowers) battle.
I haven’t been very active her for the summer because of the 100 Days Project over at Hypercompendia which is finally winding down to a close this week. Then I’ll finally get back to reading and doing something besides writing!
