Struggling with the implications, leaning one way towards what I believe is fair, yet tempered by the justice of legal law which may or may not be–however interpreted and applied–in conflict.
And sometimes, driving, listening, Willie answers:
Justice is the one thing you should always find
You got to saddle up your boys
You got to draw a hard line
When the gun smoke settles we’ll sing a victory tune
We’ll all meet back at the local saloon
We’ll raise up our glasses against evil forces
Singing whiskey for my men, beer for my horses(Beer for my Horses, Toby Keith with Willie Nelson)
I’m willing to give in on what seems fair, as that is only a matter of opinion. But I’m not going to back down on justice, even fighting the judicial system and its Representatives as I’ve sadly had to do. Socrates understood, and accepted only that he had to accept, and Plato. And now, Willie and Toby and me.
