While I do feel incredibly guilty about renewing with Typepad, and by November I may be blogging from the streets (good thing I decided on the laptop!), I’ve made my decision to continue with Spinning and its sisters in the hope that it is improving both my reading and writing abilities. Selfish, I know, when so many people have it so much harder even if my worst case scenario comes true, I can still perhaps get a job as a Wal-Mart greeter.
To justify the expense, Spinning will continue in its literary format (maybe even be recognized as such to the big guys someday) with the personal kept to a minimum or metaphor in writing exercise. Finances will eventually improve, but it will be a while before I can return to formal studies, so this will serve as my classroom. To make the move to a free service is just enough trouble to discourage me from continuing, so it came down to eating beans and blogging on.
Lord knows, the results may be indistinguishable between the two.
