NEW MEDIA: The Sims 2

I think I’ll be having quite  a bit of fun with this one, but it’s quite complicated and looks more the long-term steady diversion, unlike adventure games such as Silent Hill 2.  Not adventure perhaps, compared to Half-Life for example; more likely of a quest nature.  As a matter of fact, it is interesting in itself that the blossoming of story into the gameplay medium has created story genres that are based on the action, the style and navigation and so differ from and may have changed the classification of narrative.

The Sims 2 may be likened to the tv programming and the manner of serialization into regularly scheduled slots of long-running dramas.  Maybe I can even go so far as to say that some players may even set aside a certain time at which they pick up and enter (read/watch/play) this or any other game.  The more things change, the more they remain the same.
