In the BBC News this morning: School leavers ‘lack basic skills’
“Too many school leavers cannot read, write or add up properly, business leaders have complained.
A third of Confederation of British Industry (CBI) members say they have had to pay for extra English and maths lessons for 16 to 19 year olds.”
Who’da thunk that cheaper, inexperienced talent would end up costing more in the long run? Time perhaps to rethink downsizing the older workers into retirement? Maybe the shareholders will once again change (reverse) the face of industry by demanding that people work their way up into positions when faced with the prospect of losing that extra penny per share profit margin
