I cannot let this first of August day go by. I must mark it somehow with myself as it has somehow left a mark on me. A word or two is all I have to offer, using them to form a question that will carry it into another day.

That you existed at all on this day is sometimes enough, isn’t it? This first day of August has come and gone, and we can look to the morrow.
How did you matter today? I surely needed to see some friendly words today (oh how I needed that), and your words were simple and devoid of forced sunshine. Which brightened my day, by their very honesty. So the sun shone after all.
