Just a quick note that my niece has just had successful surgery removing a golf-ball sized tumor from the frontal/parietal lobe area of her brain, and is responding well enough to know her husband’s name. While it is too early to tell if there has been any damaging effect from the surgery, the surgeon was pleased with both himself and Alisa’s prognosis. Further testing on the tumor itself as well as closer study of CAT scans to locate the primary cancer area will tell a more accurate story, but this news so far has been so very encouraging.
I really want to thank you for the kind words of support and prayers you’ve offered to my family and me. It’s been a rough time starting with that horrible first phone call from my scared and sobbing sister (Alisa’s mom) on Thursday night. I am exceptionally proud of Alisa’s sisters and brother who all came together to be at her side from all over the US, and who have shown the same strength of courage and wisdom under stress that has filtered down through the family from my own parents.
Thank you all again. I’ve finally been able to take a deep breath.
