I awoke this morning with a god-awful headache that I suspect was caused from swelling. Thank you all for your congratulations on the honor mentioned below (see how I managed to get it in one more time? I’m no dummy–I know about page scrolling). I truly am honored and need to keep rereading the letter just to make it real for me.
For my final Spanish presentation (believe me, I ain’t gonna win no prizes in THAT language!) I have decided to write a poem and give a little presentation about writing. It was difficult to not only think in another language, but to think poetically in it, and I don’t think I really have the consideration of the language within the words when it comes to alliteration, flow, etc. I have it posted in its first draft in Talespinning for those of you who may understand Spanish, and your help would be appreciated both on language skill and as to the poetry. It is called, “Pequeño Barco” which hopefully means, “Little Boat.”
