WRITING: Separating the Voices

Luckily I’m in that creative mode where I can sit and write about anything in a kind of nifty way. But organization is key here, and I’ve spent the morning separating out the voices that are clamoring to be heard.

Priority #1 is rewriting of “A Seasonal Life” but there’s a character that’s calling for attention, and I have had to start another story because he just didn’t seem to understand that a cowpoke from the 1870’s didn’t belong in contemporary suburbia among a family who had a different set of conflicts of their own.

So I listened, and as soon as he took a breath to contemplate his telling of his story, I labeled him and stuck him in a Word file to post on Talespinning for later listening. On top of this, I’m speaking to myself in Spanish about my daily routine, and that will end up posted on the proper course discussion as soon as I can refine out the western twang.
