Blogging has indeed kept me somewhat connected with my study of the Spanish language as I check regularly to read Spinning en español. Although I do not totally trust the translation as completely accurate and proper, knowing what I wrote and reading it in another language does at the very least produce a familiarity and practice.
But there’s some fun to it as well; seeing the translation of words that I haven’t learned about as yet, or in other languages that I do not know—especially the names of the linking weblogs. Spinning becomes El hacer girar and as in German, Spinnenden. Some are funny such as the very informative and well-established Book Slut which becomes Libro Slut and Buch Slut . And I easily have recognized my English Professor’s site, The Great Lettuce Head as La Gran Cabeza De la Lechuga or Der Große Kopfsalat Kopf. He’s just as amusing in English.
