Due to rising costs in postage as a result of loss of revenue to the U.S. Postal Service, it has become necessary to downsize the number of people who will be receiving Christmas cards this year. All mandatory but long forgotten correspondence only at Christmas type names will be terminated prior to this year’s mailing. No new add-ons are being accepted at this time. This will be the only notice of such management decision, as it would incur additional cost to notify those being cut back from the list, and also kind of rude to write, “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, this is your last card from me.”

What a great idea! On the flip side, I wish there were some way that I could “unsubscribe” from some of the cards I get year after year… Then you feel the pressure to reciprocate with one of your own…
Bah – humbug!
