Hypertext is the implied “or” in story, but it doubles as “and” or “too” as well. It’s even taken on the mantle of “meanwhile,” and it could certainly suit “long ago.”
Hypertext is the ability to move around the elements of backstory, foreshadowing, conflict, as if one were playing with blocks. And hypertext breaks the spine of the arc and rebuilds it better than new.
