HYPERTEXT & CODE: Deflation

February 25th, 2009 by susan

Didn’t even think to check the hypertext piece on Internet Explorer since the changes were so elementary.

The code for changing theĀ font color of particular writing spaces doesn’t work! The link color changes do, but the whole body of text in the ‘asides’ remains white despite the simple code of <p><font color=”ff0000″>text</font></p> tag enclosures.

What’s IE looking for? There is a browser-checker online that I’ll check into later. After I’ve finished pouting and grumbling “get with the program. Get a Mac and Firefox for Pete’s sake” into the cosmos.

Maybe try text instead? Interactions between CSS and font tags can be confusing. If you have more than one paragraph with this style, you can enclose the s in a with that same style.

Hmm, wordpress ate my HTML. what I meant to write was:

Maybe try [p style=”color: #f00″]text[/p] instead? Interactions between CSS and font tags can be confusing. If you have more than one paragraph with this style, you can enclose the [p]s in a [div] with that same style.

… but with angle brackets instead of square ones.

Thanks. I’ve been playing with it on a test writing space template and so far haven’t gotten it to work–though I’m not sure it may in the IE browser since once I took the other code out, in Firefox it’s white so if it’s white here, then I don’t care what color it is in other browsers either. I’ll keep at it, and thanks for your help, Chris.
